An Oneonta ceramic manufacturer has beaned a competitor with a $2.3 million federal lawsuit in a squabble over molds to make doll's heads.
The copyright infringement suit was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Albany and is pending before District Judge Con G. Cholakis. Seeley's Ceramic Services Inc., an Oneonta company that holds a copyright on a mold created in 1977, is alleging that a Florida competitor has copied the mold.
In court papers, Vernon and Mildred Seeley, who run the ceramics company, contend that Bell Ceramics Inc. violated their copyright and harmed their business.
